“The concept of universal love, not necessarily of blood, is a cornerstone for us." Miruna Gheordunescu, CEO and founder of knitwear brand Gensami talks about bonds and connections.

How was the idea for Gensami born?

“The inspiration comes from my parents who coordinated their looks using color references, and in this way, their bond was perceived even stronger. So with André, my partner in life and in business, we came up with an innovative knitwear concept with a strong symbolic meaning on the theme of love.”

Why create a knitwear line for the whole family?

“Gensami offers coordinated (but not the same) creations for babies, adults and pets, made with noble natural fibers. They are cool and contemporary knits but dress different generations with elaborate patterns done by the best Italian artisans.”

Tell us about the new collection in linen and silk?

“It is an exclusive capsule in linen, silk and cotton that mixes patterns and yarns. The palette is inspired by earth tones: écru and pearl gray but also white in the baby line, shades that remind of sand, pebbles and clouds.”

What do you propose for the little ones?

“Protagonists of the babies' summer selection are baseball caps and crocheted baby cloches matching with knitted garments and accessories for their mothers. Also proposed in a striped nautical-style fabric”
