And what's the meaning of the Yellow Thread, always present on each knit?
"It's the ray of sunshine: the dear people in our lives. A luminous detail that we always find on the left cuff, surrounding the wrist with the vein that leads to the heart."
What fabrics and colors have you chosen for the collection?
"A blend of strictly natural and noble fibers. Linen, cotton, and silk to create feather-like knits that play on regular weaves and patterns, mixing stitches and yarns. The palette is neutral, inspired by the colors of the earth and summer. Our fibers are one hundred percent sustainable. Synthetic materials and those processed with chemicals expose the babies' delicate skin, so we don't use them."
You have a daughter. How much do you think of her and your experience as a mother when you propose a new piece?
"Always. Gensami's muse is my daughter Carolina. When she was born, my husband and I realized that no brands on the market offered garments with a strong symbolic and emotional meaning, placing the quality of materials and the health of babies at the center of their production. When a new knit is designed, I always ask myself, 'Would I make Carolina, the most precious person in my life, wear it?' If the answer is yes, it means that I have done my job well."
